Ideas to maintain your fitness
Benefits of walking
−Walking is a simple, accessible way to boost your mood, improve circulation and maintain fitness. If you have a pedometer or a step-tracking app on your phone, try setting daily step goals; even small walks around the house or garden count. Marching on the spot or using the stairs can also help increase your movement and build strength.
Active gaming
+If you enjoy video games, consider “exergames” that require physical movement, such as virtual tennis or dance games. These are a fun way to keep active while enjoying yourself.
Dancing
+Dancing is another excellent activity that improves coordination, balance and mood. You don’t need to be a professional, just put on your favourite tunes and move however feels good or explore online dance classes at your own pace.
Create a homemade gym
+You don’t need fancy equipment to get a good workout. Household items like filled water bottles can be used as weights, stairs can be used for step-ups and bags of rice or sugar can act as kettlebells. Combining these with bodyweight exercises like push-ups and jumping jacks creates a versatile and effective circuit training routine.
Important reminder
Before starting any new exercise programme, please consult your healthcare team. They can help you choose activities that are safe and appropriate for your individual health needs.
