Why collection cans matter

Every year, our collection cans raise thousands of pounds to support local people living with cancer. They don’t just raise funds, they also raise awareness of the free services Wessex Cancer Support provides across Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

We’re always looking for local businesses and venues to host a can (or two!) and help us make a difference. From pubs to cafés, garden centres to offices, anywhere with footfall is a great place for a collection can.

How much can one can do?

On average, a full collection can holds around £25. That could help fund wellbeing services that ease anxiety and promote emotional recovery, proof that small change really can change lives.

Volunteer as a collection can coordinator

Our Collection Can Coordinators are the face of Wessex Cancer Support in the community. They build relationships with local businesses, place cans in new venues and collect them when full. It’s a flexible, impactful volunteering role that helps raise thousands of pounds each year to support families affected by cancer.
