Running from 4th to 10th May, Cakes4Cancer is all about bringing people together for cake, conversation, and a cause. Whether you bake it, fake it or buy it, Wessex Cancer Support wants your help raising dough to fund its work across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The funds you raise through your Cakes4Cancer event will make a significant difference. We are dedicated to helping all individuals affected by cancer, and we rely entirely on the generosity of donations and fundraising to provide our essential services to those in need within the local community.

Cakes4Cancer 2025 FAQs

How much does it cost? There is no registration fee, and no minimum sponsorship target. We ask that you do what you can to make your event a success as this not only covers the cost of printing our packs, but more importantly, the money raised goes towards providing free emotional support and wellbeing services to local people affected by a cancer diagnosis.

Does everything need to be homemade? No. You can provide home-baked cakes, shop-bought cakes, or a mixture of the two! In our packs, you will find fundraising game ideas including “Baked It or Faked It” which requires the guests to guess if each cake is baked or bought.

Are we only supposed to serve cake? No; you can offer a range of sweet and savoury bakes. The important thing to remember is to provide gluten-free and dairy-free options so that everyone can enjoy your spread. Please include ingredients lists so that guests with allergies can stay safe.

Will I receive a certificate? Yes! Contact a member of the Fundraising Team if you would like a certificate with the total amount raised. If you are holding your event in a pub or village hall, you can ask the Fundraising Team for a certificate and thank you letter addressed to the venue.

Can I hold my event in a month besides May? Yes. We promote Cakes4Cancer every May, but you can hold your event whenever you like. We recommend that you request your pack in (or before) May because they are in high demand!

Do I have to apply for a pack? You will receive a digital pack to download, if you need help with printing any materials please get in contact using the email below.
