Your Local Cancer Support Services: Free, Personal and Here for You

At your Wessex Cancer Support Centres, we offer a safe space where you can find practical advice and emotional support at a time when life feels out of your control. Our free cancer support services are designed around you.  There’s no pressure, no rush and no need for a doctor’s referral. Whether you’re living with cancer or supporting a loved one, we’re here to listen and help.  We work with anyone aged 18 or over and living in our region of Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset and the Channel Islands.

We know that cancer treatments and medications are vital and continue to advance, but your wellbeing is about more than hospital appointments and medical care. That’s why we provide the extra layer of support, a place where you can talk openly, find reassurance and receive help in managing the emotional and practical challenges of your cancer journey.  Our dedicated team of trained staff and volunteers provide confidential cancer counselling, complementary therapies, a listening ear from our trained support volunteers, information and signposting to other useful help and support in a welcoming environment away from clinical settings. From your very first visit, we’ll help you feel at ease and our welcome conversation will help guide you in choosing the right cancer care support services for your needs.

Free Cancer Support, Tailored to You

We understand that reaching out for cancer support can feel daunting. That’s why, from the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll receive a warm welcome from our friendly cancer support volunteers. You’ll have the chance to talk about your feelings, medical treatment and any concerns in a calm, private setting.

Together, we’ll explore the range of support available,  whether it’s emotional support for cancer patients, cancer wellbeing therapies, or connecting you with local cancer support groups and services. We’ll book your first session and ensure the support you receive feels right for you.

Support for Families and Carers Too

Our support isn’t just for those living with cancer. We offer cancer family support services, providing a space for family members and carers to share their worries and find practical advice too. Loved ones are welcome to join you on your first visit and at any time you need.

Visiting our Cancer Support Centres

If you were wondering what it’s like visiting one of our support centres, we created this video with the help of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.

“It was daunting going into the support centre for the first time, but that feeling soon went. Wessex Cancer Support will listen to you and then work with you to put together a package of support that best meets your needs. Because of their caring team, I’m so glad to be here and I’m looking forward to the future.”
