Drainage services company, RenoDrain is sponsoring our annual Swim for Hope challenge on Saturday 19th July, and owner, Jamie Webster, will be accompanying the swimmers in his kayak to ensure they cross the Solent safely. Could you help too?
Swim for Hope raises funds to support Islanders affected by cancer. Last year, 27 people swam 1.3miles across the Solent from Hurst Castle to Colwell Bay and raised almost £26,500. With the 2025 swim already a sell-out, we’re on the hunt for safety support vessels to accompany the swimmers. We’ve enlisted the help of our previous safety kayakers and are now looking for support boats too.
Jamie says:
“We’re proud to sponsor Swim for Hope. This is the second year we’ve sponsored the event, which we believe truly embodies the unwavering passion, dedication and strength of our wider region in supporting others.
“We highly commend everyone taking part and thank everyone who donates, to raise funds and awareness for Wessex Cancer Support in their mission to support those affected by cancer.”
Laura Haytack, our Regional Fundraising Manager for the Isle of Wight, says:
“These vital volunteers ensure the safety of all swimmers as they cross the Solent. Without them, we simply couldn’t put on the event and we wouldn’t be able to raise this incredible amount of money to support Islanders affected by cancer. Please do help us if you can.”
If you’re free on Saturday 19th July and can help, please email laura.haytack@wessexcancer.org.uk.
