To mark Wessex Cancer Support’s 45th anniversary this year, 45 determined swimmers will take on the iconic Swim for Hope, a 1.3-mile cross-Solent swim from Hurst Point (Hampshire) to Colwell Bay (Isle of Wight) on Saturday 8th August.

The event is proudly sponsored for the third year running by RenoDrain, an independent Isle of Wight–based drainage clearing and repair specialist supporting both residential and commercial customers. Offering everything from new drainage installations and drain realignment to a 24-hour emergency call-out service, RenoDrain has built a strong reputation for responding when people need help most – including supporting homes affected by flooding across the Island.

Since launching in 2019, Swim for Hope has raised an incredible £140,000, helping to support thousands of local people affected by cancer every year. RenoDrain’s continued sponsorship plays a vital role in ensuring this much-loved event can go ahead safely and successfully.

RenoDrain owner Jamie Webster will once again be taking to the water on the day, accompanying swimmers in his kayak and helping provide on-the-water support throughout the crossing.

“This event truly embodies the passion, dedication and strength of our region in supporting others. We’re proud to sponsor Swim for Hope and to support the vital work Wessex Cancer Support does for local people and families.”

Jamie Webster, Owner of RenoDrain

While all swimmer places are now sold out (with a waiting list), the event still relies on the support of experienced kayakers and boat owners to help ensure a safe crossing for everyone involved. Anyone able to assist on the water is encouraged to get in touch.
