We’re thrilled to have received almost £200,000 in

National Lottery funding

We’re thrilled to have received almost £200,000 in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.

We’ll use the funding over the next three years to continue to provide a range of emotional and wellbeing support, including counselling, befriending, complementary therapies and support groups, at our four cancer Support Centres in Chandler’s Ford, Bournemouth, Hythe and Newport on the Isle of Wight.

Rachel Billsberry-Grass, our CEO, said:

“It’s widely understood that a cancer diagnosis can affect how we feel emotionally, and research shows that if you have cancer you identify a lack of emotional support as a great challenge. What’s more, many will be all too aware of the impact Covid-19 has had on cancer services. We rely on donations and fundraising, so grants like this are vitally important. Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant will help towards the costs of our wellbeing and emotional support services over the next three years, and it will make a direct impact on the lives of local people.”

National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive.

During the pandemic, in 2020, The National Lottery Community Fund distributed almost £1 billion to charities and communities across the UK.
