The Dorset Plane Pull 2026
20 People. 35,000 kg. 50 Metres. Are you ready?
Welcome to the Dorset Plane Pull, the UK’s only charity event of its kind. Now entering its 17th year, this August promises to be the biggest event yet.
It’s a simple concept, but a monumental challenge:
- 20 teammates
- 1 Boeing 737
- 50 metres of tarmac
Whether you are looking for team building, a fitness challenge, or just a unique way to give back, the Dorset Plane Pull is an experience like no other.
Registration fee – £20
Fundraising Target – £150 minimum
What to expect on the day
The gates open at 10am and the event finishes at around 17:30.
The plane pulls take place all day, only stopping for an hours lunch break.
The pull itself takes between 25 seconds and 2 minutes, depending on how fast you pull.
Once we know what time you are pulling we’ll let you know. Those that are pulling a plane are required to arrive about an hour before your pull. That way we’ll have enough time to get you registered well before you’re due to pull.
They’ve got a load going on throughout the day. Like a DJ and live bands, as well as a children’s entertainer – all for free. For a small fee little ones can get their face painted or hop onto the bouncy castle.
If you’re feeling peckish be sure to get something from our fabulous food vendor who will be providing delicious food all day. There is also a fully licensed bar for those fancying something a little stronger!
If it’s all a bit much and you fancy a sit down, we have a spectator area where you can sit, watch and cheer the teams pulling the plane. And if you hear about a charity pop over and say hi – we’ll have our own tent on-site.
Equipment
The only equipment you need on the day is
- a valid ID (e.g. drivers licence or passport)
- a pair of suitable shoes (e.g. trainers)
- sunscreen
- water
Location

Training
Don’t worry there isn’t any specific training required. But we do ask that all pullers are fit and healthy: without any known heart problems, back issues or currently pregnant.
Pulling is limited to the able-bodied, as it’s very strenuous. And you do pull at your own risk.
Accessibility
The event is on a levelled tarmac site which is suitable for wheelchairs. In addition there will be disabled portaloo toilets on site. If you are entering with a team and have any specific access requirements, please let us know so that we can accommodate you.
About Dorset Plane Pull
Founded in early 2009 by a small group of individuals who wanted to raise money for two charities close to their heart.
Since then it’s got bigger and better every year and now the Plane Pull helps to raise valuable funds for a number of incredible charities.
To date, the Plane Pull has raised over £400,000 for our beneficiary charities. Every penny of this goes directly to the charities who use it to support all of the amazing work that they do.
August 2026 is the Plane Pull’s 17th event and will see more teams than ever, the future of the Plane Pull continues to look bright.
