Wessex Cancer Support is proud to announce that its 2026 TCS London Marathon team raised a remarkable £43,230.87 for the charity, a testament to the incredible commitment of ten runners from across our region who took on one of the world’s most iconic races in aid of people living with cancer.
The #TeamWessex squad comprised eight Golden Bond runners and two Ballot place holders, each fundraising to support the charity’s network of centres across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, where free, professional support services are available to anyone affected by cancer.
Every pound raised goes directly towards the services Wessex Cancer Support provides free of charge, from emotional support and counselling to practical guidance and group activities. The funds raised by this year’s marathon team will make a real difference to the lives of local people and their families at one of the most challenging times they will ever face.
Ian Creek, Wessex Cancer Support’s Chief Executive, said: “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity and determination shown by every single member of #TeamWessex. Running 26.2 miles is no small feat and to do so while raising such a magnificent sum for our charity is truly humbling. This money will help us keep our support services running for everyone in our communities who needs us. Thank you Beth, Ben, Sophie, Chloe, Mark, Paul, Patrick, Deon, Zia and Liam!”
