Lois, from Petersfield, has signed up for our paragliding challenge to mark her 75th birthday.
She says:
“I started doing sponsored charity events when I turned 60. I wanted to do something to mark the occasion and not just go for a meal. A letter arrived with details of a skydive, so that’s what I did! People then asked me what I was going to do for my 65th, so I abseiled down the Spinnaker Tower. This set a trend, so for my 70th I did a wing walk. Wondering what to do for my 75th, I noticed Wessex Cancer Support’s paragliding challenge. I’d been involved with the charity many years ago, so it seemed ideal.
“Also, like many of us, I’ve known lots of people whose lives have been affected by cancer, so I knew anything I could do would be worthwhile. So, this year, I’ll pluck up my courage and leap into the unknown!
“You’re never too old to take on a new challenge, so take a look at all the amazing events they have this year. You’ll be making a huge difference to the lives of local people affected by cancer.”
