Annual hospitality event at Bournemouth Air Festival raises more than £37,000

“Together, we’re making a tangible difference by providing vital support to local people affected by cancer” – James Stelfox, QuoStar

Our annual Bournemouth Air Festival hospitality event, sponsored by IT consultancy, QuoStar, raised more than £37,000 this year to support local people affected by cancer.

This year’s event took place on Friday 1st September at Key West Restaurant on Bournemouth Pier during the Bournemouth Air Festival. The event, sponsored by QuoStar for the ninth year running, has in total raised more than £100,000 over the years.

Attendees were welcomed with a Pimm’s on the pier, followed by a three-course lunch and some fundraising fun and games. The 180 guests then enjoyed spectacular VIP views of the Air Festival flight displays throughout the day – including the Red Arrows.

James Stelfox, Managing Director at QuoStar, commented:

“We are overjoyed by the success of this year’s annual fundraiser and thrilled to have partnered with Wessex Cancer Support for nine years now. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who joined us for the day and contributed to this remarkable achievement. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the fight against cancer and providing vital support to those in need. We believe in supporting local causes, especially ones that provide much-needed assistance to those affected by cancer and their loved ones. One of the things we admire about Wessex Cancer Support is its team’s ability to organise amazing events that not only bring businesses together to network, but also raise awareness and funds for an incredibly worthy cause.”

Jo Merrett, our Head of Philanthropy and Major Partnerships, said:

“We’re delighted to have hosted another magnificent corporate event, bringing together local businesses, keen to support us and learn about the work we do. I’m thrilled the day raised even more than last year and can’t thank our guests enough for the extreme generosity they’ve shown, in what is currently a very tough economic climate. We’re extremely grateful to QuoStar for sponsoring the event and to Key West for providing a perfect location from which to watch the amazing Air Festival displays.”

All the money raised at the event will be used to provide practical emotional support to anyone affected by cancer in Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.
