We frequently hear from people affected by cancer that their experience had felt very lonely until they found others facing similar difficulties, with whom they could be themselves and benefit from the comfort, mutual support and encouragement this can bring.

Whether you are living with cancer, supporting a loved one with cancer, or experiencing grief, our support services will enable you to find someone or a group of people to connect with, who will be ‘by your side’ through the challenges.

What to expect

Two of our trained befrienders, Ann and Jay, host a weekly, evening Zoom session – an opportunity to check in with others who are facing similar challenges due to the effect of cancer on their lives. This community offers inspiration, support and a non-judgemental listening ear – a place where you can find valuable information that’s both practical and constructive.

It’s normal to feel nervous about attending a group like this, which we completely understand. You are very welcome to join without sharing anything about yourself until you are comfortable to do so.

The Zoom group continues to be an essential part of my support system. It has been invaluable in helping me to be part of a community, especially on the days when I’m too tired to even get out of bed. Such lovely people.
