Values are the things that we deem to be important to us. They make us who we are and are the compass guiding our thoughts, choices and actions. When we feel lost our values can show us the way and keep us on the right path.

An integral part of who we are, values are deeply held principals that can guide our choices and behaviours and influence our emotions. They have the power to motivate us, fuel the passion in our hearts and provide a reason for why we do the things that we do.

The 20th October is World Values Day, and this year we would like you to take the opportunity to reflect on your most deeply held values and try to act upon them. By focusing on putting your values into action you can not only change your life for the better, but also make a positive difference to the world that you live in.

Here at Wessex Cancer Trust we believe that everyone affected by cancer should have a local place to go to get the support they need. Our values are an integral part of ensuring that we stay true to this belief, and continue to provide you with the best support we can.

We would like to celebrate this day by sharing our values with you:

Welcoming: a place of tranquillity and reassurance

Respectful: always sensitive to your concerns and wishes

Personal: Supporting your individual needs

Confidential: giving you space to talk openly
