Looking for some easy virtual ways to support local families affected by cancer. You don’t have to be face to face to make a difference - take a look at our ideas below!

Community Events

Time for Tea
What better excuse than to have a catch up with friends over a cup of tea (or coffee!). Keeping connected is so important during this lockdown so why not host a virtual tea party, catch up on the gossip and donate what you would’ve spent on your tea/coffee/cake!

Virtual Quiz Night
It’s time to put your knowledge to the test! Why not organise a Quiz Night for your friends and family. If you don’t fancy writing questions of your own, why not buy one of our pre-set Stay At Home Quizzes? Ask each team to donate a round of drinks, or what they would’ve spent on their quiz team entry.

Virtual Bingo Night
Organise a night like no other, and host your own Bingo Night! There are lots of online bingo callers and bingo cards you can use, so run something a bit different during this lockdown! Donate the entry fees from all of your friends and family!

Virtual Dinner Party
Organise a virtual dinner party with your friends and family, and ask if everyone could donate the cost that they would usually spend on going out for dinner. Agree a time, make your dinner, and everyone logs in, and eats together, it’s as simple as that. Minimal washing up too! You could even up the ante and make it a Ready, Steady, Cook challenge.

If none of these take your fancy, why not check out our full list of events here.

Use your skills

Organise a class
Teach your friends, family or even your usual class but virtually! It could be yoga, languages or a cooking class - the choice is yours. Ask for donations to attend and donate these to Wessex Cancer Trust.

Use your gifts
Are you a superb artist? Can you write poems like no other? Why not put your gifts out there, and ask for donations for any orders to the Trust. We’ve already had the amazing Sarah draw pet portraits for donations raising over £500!

Host your own Virtual Collection

Ask your friends and family to donate to your Justgiving page to raise money for the Trust. You could set up a virtual collection as a way to celebrate your birthday or simply to support the Trust during this challenging time. To start collecting now, click here.

Kindness acts
Why not take the above one step further and ask for donations for completing acts of kindness? You could deliver shopping, clean the house (!) or help your brother with this homework?

Spring Clean

Get together all of your unwanted clothes, accessories, books and games you no longer want or need, and sell them online to raise funds for Wessex Cancer Trust. Now is the perfect time for that long-awaited Spring Clean!

One way to start selling is by using eBay.

  1. You’ll need to take some pictures of the items you want to sell, then head to eBay and log in.

  2. Click on ‘Sell’, and when listing the item make sure to scroll to the bottom to the donation section. Here you can select your chosen charity - and choose how much you’d like to come to Wessex Cancer Trust

  3. When your items sell, the funds will automatically be donated to the Trust!
