You could simply organise a dress down day asking pupils and teachers to pay money to dress in normal clothes, pyjamas or even fancy dress.

Or if you’re looking for something a bit bigger why not organise an event. Here are a few ideas:

  • Hold a talent show or a quiz and sell tickets in advance

  • Sponsored silence or sporting event

  • Take part in our Cakes 4 Cancer week and hold a bake sale or bake off challenge

Hold a Bucket Collection
You may already hold events throughout the year such as a Summer Fete or Christmas Carol Concert. Adding a bucket collection to your event is the perfect opportunity to raise money for Wessex Cancer Trust and we can provide balloons, buckets and banners to help.

Why fundraise for us?
Every year over 20,000 people are diagnosed with cancer across the Wessex region, with approximately 1,600 child cases each year in the UK. This can be a shock and have a huge impact on the entire family. Here are just a few of the ways we help children and young adults affected by cancer:

  • We provide up to 1,500 hours of counselling each year to local children and families, through 3 specialist counsellors who have experience working with both children and parents

  • We provide family and group therapy. This helps to support parents in talking to their children about cancer and pointing them to appropriate resources to share together if they find themselves in the difficult position of explaining a diagnosis to their child

  • We provide support for parents, grandparents and siblings of children who have been diagnosed, as particularly tough emotional issues emerge for them also

  • Our Centres are the only place to provide essential cancer support away from the stresses and strains of a busy hospital setting. We provide a supportive environment away from this clinical setting offers a real haven for all of our clients, and particularly for children.
