We’re preparing to reopen the majority of our shops on 1st July, in line with government guidance.

Opening hours at our shops in Portchester, Hythe, Chandler’s Ford, Weeke and Cosham will be Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4.30pm (5pm in Weeke). Our shop in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight will reopen approximately two weeks later, and Cosham will reopen with a big clearance sale before it closes permanently in mid-July.

Mark Ellis, our retail manager, said:

After being closed for over three months, we’re thrilled to be able to welcome shoppers back from 1st July.  The safety of our shops teams and customers is our top priority, so we’ve made some changes to how the shops are run and we’ll be complying strictly with legislation and keeping everything under review. We’ll have cleaning stations, a limit on the number of customers in each shop at any one time, social distancing markers and plastic till screens, and we’ll be encouraging card payments over cash.

With people using lockdown to have a good clear out at home, we’re expecting an influx of donations and therefore will be limiting drop-offs to between 9am and 10am - before the shops open. All donations will be quarantined for 72 hours.  We’re planning to have a lot of seasonal stock and will be running some enticing offers, so would love to see people back in our shops, helping to raise money for local families living with cancer. It’s more important than ever to support your local charity shops because most of our fundraising and events have been postponed or cancelled due to the pandemic.
