We've launched 'MyTri', a month-long personal triathlon challenge designed to help you make the most of August, as well as raising money to support local people living with cancer.

Open to individuals and teams, you can choose where, when and how you complete your chosen challenge, as long as the overall distances are finished by 31 August.

The challenges are:

  • Try a Tri - 400m swim, 10k bike, 2.5km run
  • Sprint - 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
  • Olympic - 1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run
  • Half ironman - 1.9km swim, 90km bike, 21km run
  • Ironman - 3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42km run

Our Events Manager, Laura Beavis, says:

We're challenging people to get fit by taking part in a swim, run and cycle challenge this summer. It doesn't matter which order you take on the activities or how many sessions you take to complete them, so long as the challenge is completed within the month of August. You can choose to use a treadmill, stationary bike or embrace the great outdoors and there are no rules about how you record the distances. So, whether you're a data lover or prefer a pen and paper, it really is something everyone can get involved in. And all of the money raised will provide invaluable support to people living with cancer.

Registration is £5 with a sponsorship target of £100. Participants will receive a t-shirt once they've finished their challenge, with a prize for the highest fundraiser.

All of the money raised will be used to provide practical and emotional support to people living with cancer in Hampshire, Dorset and Isle of Wight.
