Red Jet
We have been working closely with local NHS services to optimise a regular hi-speed sailing schedule that co-ordinates with NHS workers' shift patterns as closely as possible. Following these talks, and taking into account the significantly reduced passenger numbers (following government advice for non-essential travel), we have made further revisions to our Red Jet timetable.

From Saturday 4 April 2020 the schedule will operate as follows:

From Southampton
05:45, 06:45, 07:45 08:45
16:45, 17:45, 18:45, 19:45, 20:45

From West Cowes

06:15, 07:15, 08:15, 09:15
17:15, 18:15, 19:15, 20:15, 21:15

Any season ticket holders who need to travel outside of these times can travel as foot passengers on our Vehicle Ferry Service, which is still running a regular timetable throughout the day.

Wightlink
The Wightlink Fastcat service, from Ryde Pier, will not run after the last sailing Monday, April 6th, as the company responds to the impact of coronavirus.

All sailings from Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth will be cancelled, until further notice.

In other measures, unveiled last week and reported by the Isle of Wight County Press, the cross Solent operator is also minimising crossings on its Fishbourne/Portsmouth vehicle ferry route.

From 6 am 7 April Tuesday the Portsmouth/Fishbourne route will be reduced to a two-hourly service.

Wightlink had previously suspended all sailings between Yarmouth and Lymington.

The current timetable is the Essential Lifeline Timetable which will be in operation until further notice. Please follow the government’s advice and avoid non-essential travel.

Daisy Buses

Currently, Wessex Cancer Trust minibuses are running the service as needed. Week commencing 6 April there are no appointments at the QA, due to this the Portsmouth bus will not be running.

This just-launched Website, created by Islanders for Islanders, will help those living on the Isle of Wight find which business will deliver to their homes – Goods of all sorts and is free to use

A to Z to Me – has been launched to help people who live on the Isle of Wight find out which businesses will deliver goods to their homes during the Covid-19

It’s been put together by a tiny Isle of Wight team, with all of them putting our time in for free.
 

Looking after your mental health

These are very strange times due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19). It is important that we all stay safe at home. This is a very important thing we can all do. It will help to cut down the spread of the disease. It will also help us to keep healthy and well.

At times like this, we will all worry. We don’t just have to take care of our physical health but also our mental health.

You might already have a diagnosed mental health condition. You might be suffering low moods, stress, anxiety or depression for the first time because of worrying about the disease. You might be finding it hard to cope without meeting up with your friends and family to do the things you like to do. You might be finding it difficult having to stay at home.

The NHS on the Isle of Wight is working hard with lots of organisations. They have put together some information for anyone who might be struggling or wants some advice and guidance.

Given the new guidance, all face-to-face meetings, home visits, gym, groups and events will be suspended until further notice.

However, in order to support carers in the community we will be able to respond in other ways. If you feel the need to have a regular telephone call with us, please do ask.

For carers caring for those with high anxiety or dementia, it may be beneficial to avoid watching the news so to reduce their anxieties, if you are struggling with any aspect of their illness please do ring us.
