Robert Wells Having survived bowel cancer it is still taking time to fully recover. I first went to the Cancer Support Centre in Salisbury in April last year as I was finding it difficult to walk, with a lack of energy and pins and needles in the feet. The centre was a relaxing and friendly place to go to. I had reflexology sessions on my feet and some massages to relieve the stress. The feet improved, feeling less swollen, and more importantly the body and mind accepted the change and the different walking experience. I became a volunteer at the centre and have taken on this 20 mile walk to raise money to help keep the centre open so that other people with cancer may be helped. Previously 20 miles would have been like a stroll in the park but at the moment my maximum walk has only been just over 2 miles, so I have lots of training to do to over the next 2 months.
