Preparation and cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 4 eggs

  • 250ml milk

  • ½ tsp. cinnamon

  • Butter

  • 8 slices day-old white bread

  • Maple syrup and fresh fruit to serve (we suggest blueberries and sliced banana)



  • Mix eggs, milk and cinnamon in a shallow dish

  • Melt a dollop of butter in a medium hot pan, taking care not to burn it

  • Dip a slice of bread on both sides so that it is wet, but not soggy

  • Fry in the pan until it is golden brown on both sides

  • Repeat until you have a stack of toast – you can either keep this warm in an oven, or pop it in the microwave for a short amount of time to reheat

  • Serve with maple syrup and fruit
