Drive-in cinema 2022 FAQs

Can I bring food and drink?

Yes, you’re welcome to bring food and drink but there will also be a choice of delicious food and drink outlets on-site. The Needles Landmark Attraction will have its Isle of Wight Sweet Manufactory open throughout the event. Food vendors will be accepting cash and card payments.

What do I need to bring?

Please don’t forget to bring your e-ticket (this has been sent to your email address), you can bring a printout or show it on your mobile. We will not be able to allow access without it.

How do you hear the film?

You will be able to hear the film through your in-car stereo. On arrival, you will receive an FM frequency so you can tune in and hear the movie through your car’s speakers.

How do I find the venue?

If you are using a satnav to get to the venue, put in the postcode PO39 0JD and follow signposts for The Needles on all major routes, including the A3054 via Yarmouth, the B3401 and B3399 via Freshwater and the A3055 via Freshwater Bay. For more information, click here to visit The Needles Landmark Attraction – Getting Here section.

Will I be allocated a specific parking space?

Spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. This will depend on the size of your vehicle. Larger cars will be asked to go towards the back – but don’t worry, you’ll have no problem seeing the big screen wherever you’re positioned!

Will I be able to park next to my friend’s car?

Unfortunately we will not always be able to park friends side by side as the parking is based on car size and on a first come, first served basis.

What time should I arrive?

Gates will open 45 minutes before each screening and close 15 minutes before the film starts.

What happens when we arrive?

After presenting your e-ticket, you will be asked to wait in the holding area. You will be invited to queue in a particular line depending on the size of your vehicle. Each line will then be asked to follow directions to their allocated space. Vehicles will be positioned depending on size to provide an optimal viewing position for all.

What happens if it rains?

The event will go ahead in most weather conditions, as long as there is no risk to the audience. If a screening has to be cancelled for any reason, we will email all ticket holders and announce on ourĀ Facebook page.

How big is the screen, and will we be able to see the picture ok in daylight?

The LED screen is 9.2m wide by 5.3m high and because the screen is LED and not projected, the picture will be of high quality at all times of the day and night. As well as being bigger and better than ever, we are also using a trailer screen which can be risen to allow optimal viewing.

Are dogs allowed?

Well-behaved dogs are permitted, but you may be asked to leave if your pet disturbs others.

Are there toilet facilities?

Yes, there are toilets onsite.
