Passionate about supporting people affected by cancer? Love meeting new people and organising events? The newly developed role of the Community Engagement Manager could be the perfect role for you!

We are looking for a passionate, self-starter to play a key role in inspiring people across Dorset and Salisbury to support Wessex Cancer Trust through all aspects of community fundraising.

The role will focus on identifying and delivering new fundraising opportunities and events and whilst enhancing relationships with existing and new supporters and donors. Engaging with local businesses and a broad spectrum of community groups, you will work to maximise income through building strong relationships.

When you join Wessex Cancer, you are not just joining a local charity; you are becoming part of our mission to make a difference to local people affected by cancer. We want someone who loves building relationships, public speaking and working closely with volunteers.

A background in the third sector is not essential but proven fundraising, events or business development experience, or a volunteer management background is desirable. With excellent communication and relationship-building skills, the successful candidate will be able to look strategically at the area they cover, as well as having a hands on approach to fundraising.

Applications must include a cover letter outlining your suitability for the role alongside your CV to be considered. This role will be home based with at least one day a week spent at our support centres and regular visits to Head Office in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

The role will include some evening and weekend work, so flexibility over working hours is key. A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes are essential.

The role is being advertised, and interviews will be offered on a rolling basis and if a suitable candidate is found may close before the closing date.
