The effects of cancer can be felt in a number of ways, in addition to just physical health.
One of these is the huge financial strain you and your family can be placed under, due to increased costs and potential loss of income. By seeking financial advice as early as possible into your cancer journey, you can safeguard against financial worries spiralling out of control – allowing you to put more focus on your overall health and well-being.
Wessex Cancer Trust has been partnering with Macmillan and Citizens Advice, which means a benefits advisor visits the Centres once a month. We have already received excellent feedback from clients using this service in our Centres. These financial support specialists provide guidance about managing rent and mortgage payments, council tax, energy bills, financial planning, access to pensions and insurance and one-off grants. If this is something you would be interested in please contact your nearest Centre.
