SO45 golf day raises £12,500 for Wessex Cancer Support

The 10th annual SO45 charity golf day has raised £12,500 to support local people affected by cancer.

114 golfers took part in the event at Dibden Golf Centre, including Southampton FC legends, Matt le Tissier and Nicky Banger, organised by Mike and Donna Osman from Oyster Financial Planning. Mike visited our Waterside cancer Support Centre recently to present the cheque to Centre Manager, Maureen  Robb.

The donation brings the couple’s fundraising to more than £100,000 for local charities and projects since 2012.

Sarah King, our Senior Corporate & Community Fundraiser, said:

“We rely on donations and fundraising, so we’re thrilled to receive this cheque and to have been supported by the SO45 charity golf day for many years. We’ll use the money to continue to provide much-needed wellbeing support for anyone living with cancer in the local community. On behalf of all of us, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Mike and Donna and everyone who took part in the tournament. Your generosity will have a direct impact on the lives of local people, enabling us to be there for them through their cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery.”
