Grant keeps Daisy Buses running

We’re thrilled to have received a grant for £13,167 from the Isle of Wight Foundation to help keep our Daisy Buses running.  Our Daisy Buses help patients travelling from the Isle of Wight for cancer treatment get to their hospital appointments in Portsmouth and Southampton. The grant will cover minibus hire, insurance and maintenance costs for the next 12 months.

In 2023, we provided more than 12,300 journeys on our buses.

As well as helping to take the stress out of travelling to the mainland, our buses have become informal support groups, and their value to our clients has grown into much more than transport. Read more here about how the Daisy Bus became Tony’s support bubble when he had to travel from Cowes to Portsmouth’s QA Hospital for cancer treatment.

The foundation, which was established by the companies behind Island Roads awarded a total of £86,128 to nine Island charities.
