TV stars bring sparkle to our Christmas concert

A trio of celebrities headlined our first Christmas concert at St Peter’s Church in Titchfield which was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson.

Actor Martin Clunes, journalist Alastair Stewart and broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh were guest readers at our celebrations which raised money to support local people living with cancer.

Bagpipes led guests to Hampshire’s oldest church where they enjoyed an evening of carols and music, including performances by our very own Cosham Sing for Life choir. And we were all incredibly moved by our special guest, Guy, who joined us to talk about his own cancer diagnosis.

One guest described the concert as, “a wonderful and uplifting evening which reminded us what’s important.”

Sally Hillyear, our head of fundraising, said:

“We’re incredibly grateful for the support of the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire – Nigel Atkinson, Martin, Alastair, Alan and Guy, all of our performers and everyone who joined us for this very special evening. Living with a cancer diagnosis can be incredibly tough and it’s been even more of a challenge for people during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were delighted to be able to come together in this wonderful church in Titchfield, especially as it felt Christmas was rather put on hold last year.”

Here are some pictures from the evening.
