With the festive season fast approaching, we’re is running a virtual auction to help you get your Christmas shopping off to a great start, as well as raising money to support local people living with cancer.
There are currently 55 items to bid on from across Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight, including a box at the Royal Albert Hall, a three-course dinner for two at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hook, a cottage stay and a tandem bike!
Charlotte von Sicard, Wessex Cancer Support’s regional community manager, said the online auction is a great way to avoid busy shopping centres and find some special gifts, as well as being much more accessible than a traditional auction:
“Because of Covid-19, we’ve all been advised to start our Christmas shopping early this year and avoid crowding our shopping centres. Many of us struggle to find the perfect gift, so why not take the strain out of it by having a look at our online auction items and bid on something for a loved one, or maybe treat yourself after a tough year. If you’ve always fancied attending an auction but find the real thing a bit intimidating, this is the perfect way to have a go. All of the items have been kindly donated, so every penny raised will go towards supporting local people living with cancer. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated prizes from across the Wessex region. Get bidding from 2nd November because the items will soon be going, going, gone!”
