New Year Cheer!

We know that everyone’s experience of cancer is different and we try our best to offer our clients personalised support that empowers them to live well with and beyond cancer. We constantly review and evolve our services to make sure they’re meeting the unique needs of everyone who comes to us. We were therefore delighted to learn that every client who gave feedback in the last six months of 2022 said they would recommend us to others, and 100% said their experience of the support they sought was good or very good.

Here’s what they told us:

“It is a lovely place to visit – friendly and supportive. I feel very lucky to have access to such facilities.”

“From the first moment I walked through the doors of the Bournemouth cancer Support Centre, I felt loved and knew I had come to the right place, in spite of my reservations of the long journey ahead. I have been carried and supported all the way. How lucky was I.”

“It is good to see friendly faces, knowing that there is somewhere to come and share my feelings. The complementary therapies are really special and help to relieve some feelings, and the therapists are extra special!”

“I have found the Support Centre very beneficial in helping me regain confidence and normality with the lovely, friendly, positive and extremely caring individuals I have met there. It’s a real gem of a place which I continue to use.”

“The support offered was excellent. Friendly, welcoming people. Counselling and Reiki were invaluable during a really difficult time. Never felt rushed or uncomfortable. Just amazing.”

“It is through a wonderful smile as you step through the door, when it is made very very clear that you are welcome at any time. Thank you so very much.”

Our Head of Services, Colette Cowan, says she’s delighted to receive such positive feedback:

“Everyone affected by cancer – whether you’re newly diagnosed, having treatment, adjusting to life after cancer, supporting someone with cancer or bereaved, has different needs, concerns and feelings and this requires a unique approach to support. You can talk to our Wellbeing Coordinator and work together to develop a support plan. This means you access the combination of services that best suits you. We’re delighted to have received this positive feedback because it shows our clients are getting what they most need from their cancer support.”

It’s our ambition that everyone affected by cancer receives the support that empowers them to live well with and beyond cancer.

How can we support you?
