• English muffin

  • 1 free-range egg

  • 1 slice cheddar or other cheese of your choice

  • 1 piece of back bacon, fat removed

  • Small amount of butter, or alternative of your choice

  • Salt and pepper to flavour



  • Fry up the slice of bacon (tip: you shouldn’t need to add any extra fat if you fry slowly and on a low heat)

  • Whilst bacon is frying, poach the egg in a saucepan by adding the egg to simmering water; poach lightly for 3-4 minutes

  • Once the egg and bacon are both cooked, slice the muffin in half and pop it in the toaster, and slice up your cheese

  • Butter your muffin, then build your sandwich: pop the sandwich in the microwave for about 10 seconds to start to melt the cheese
