Trustees Our trustees work for Wessex Cancer Trust voluntarily. They meet regularly to discuss, decide and review our strategies and policies and receive reports and updates from senior managers. Expand Barry Rinaldi, Chairman “I first became involved with the Trust in 2010 when my wife Sara was diagnosed with breast cancer. I then spent a number of years volunteering and stood as Fundraising Group Chair from 2012 to 2015. “After standing down from this position I very much wanted to stay involved with the charity and became a Trustee in March 2016.” Janice Gabriel“I have been a nurse for 40 years, and have spent 35 of them in various aspects of cancer care including clinical, research, teaching and management. I first became involved with the Trust when I was a nurse specialist in Portsmouth, where Wessex Cancer Trust helped to support the development of their chemotherapy unit, and went on to become a Trustee in 2013.” Janet Warwick “I previously worked as a pharmacist at both Winchester and Andover hospitals, and more recently as a Councillor for Winchester City Council. “Being a City Councillor means getting involved with and being passionate for your local community, and after discovering the Trust’s Winchester Cancer Support Centre, in April 2016 I became a Trustee to help to support a fantastic local charity!” Mike Southgate Mike is a former city councillor after leaving a professional career in television, his last role being CEO of BBC Resources, a £150m turnover business with 1500 employees.
