Stories And News Latest News New journal will support anyone living with cancer We've launched, 'This Is Me', a journal designed to help anyone through their cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Emily Warden from Portsmouth (fourth from left in the picture below), came together with other women to create the journal in partnership with us after being diagnosed with womb cancer at the age of 31. With no idea how to cope or what to do, she called on Wessex Cancer Trust who gave her a safe haven to pour out her feelings, as well as access to free counselling and complementary therapies. Emily with Claire, Julie, Rachel, Louise, Charlie and Natasha who helped to put together the journal. Emily says: Just as cancer affects physical health, it can affect the way you feel, think and do things. It's so important that as well as taking care of your body, you look after your emotions, too. I hope the journal will enable women to draw hope and inspiration from the experiences of others, give them confidence and even help them embrace the changes they're going through. Above all, we know that everybody's experience of cancer is different, and I feel passionately that the journal will help every person find a way through cancer that works for them personally. As well as being a place to note feelings, 'This Is Me' features stories of women who have been affected by cancer, a planner to record appointments and social events, craft ideas and recipes, as well as hints and tips to aid health and wellbeing. The journal costs £14.99 and can be ordered here. It is currently available with 25% off using the code INTRO25. Copies are also available from all of our Support Centres and shops. All of the proceeds from the sale of the journal will be used to provide practical and emotional support to people living with cancer in Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.
