We've released new figures to show how our services are helping to support people living with cancer across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

Achievements for the first quarter of 2018, include:

  • Supporting 1200 clients and providing 1851 one-to-one counselling and complementary therapy sessions, as well as a range of groups and activity sessions, at our six support centres in Chandler's Ford, Bournemouth, Hythe, Isle of Wight and Salisbury
  • Providing transport for 5000 patients to help them get to their hospital appointments
  • Welcoming 100 members to our three Sing for Life choirs - a weekly support network for cancer patients and their families and carers to come together to perform and enjoy the therapeutic effects of music
  • Implementing an art therapy programme at each centre, thanks to a Lottery Awards for All grant

Sofie Bennett, our Head of Development, said:

Every year, we support 8,000 people living with cancer in the Wessex region, which is over a third of all people diagnosed. We're immensely proud of the impact our services are making, and it's all down to the work of our supporters, fundraisers and volunteers. We're extremely grateful for all the ways they get involved which help make a different to people's lives.
