Stories And News Latest News Laughter Yoga rolls in to Salisbury Support Centre We hope Laughter Yoga classes will be a roaring success when they roll in to our Salisbury Support Centre on Monday 4th February. Sessions will be run on Mondays from 12 to 1.30pm and cost £6 each. They will be led by Marie-Ange Gonzalez, a certified Laughter Yoga teacher from Wellbeing Salisbury. Laughter Yoga was developed by medical doctor Dr Madan Kataria in Mumbai, India, in 1995. Since then it has grown to a worldwide movement of more than 6,000 laughter clubs in over 60 countries. The concept is based on the scientific fact that the body can't differentiate between real and fake laughter, and so anyone can learn to laugh for no reason. Its combination of deep breathing exercises and laughter oxygenates the body and brain, making participants feel healthier and more energetic. Research has shown that laughter lowers the level of stress hormone in the blood, which could help anyone living with cancer feel a bit more relaxed. The Support Centre can be found at Suite 4, Beckett House, Bridge Street, Salisbury, SP1 2LX. Telephone: 01722 421781, or email [email protected] for more information. Or call Marie-Ange on 07804 041005.
