The first Wessex Cancer Trust fashion show, Shopping and Champers, took place last week showcasing the huge range of clothing from their retail stores while raising vital funds to support local families.

The event raised an outstanding £4,000 to provide local cancer care support services for adults, teenagers and children living with cancer across the Wessex region.

All 17 models had been affected by cancer, some being clients from the Trust’s Cancer Support Centres.

Mary a model and client says, “I decided to model in this evening Fashion Show to help boost my confidence and help raise funds while showing my support to others who need the help from Wessex Cancer Trust.”

The evening showcased the huge range of clothes on sale in Wessex Cancer Trusts high street stores and online eBay shop. Stella and Dot, the boutique-style jewellers, also volunteered their time to glam up our model's outfits as the hit the catwalk with their new range.

Items included designer brands such as a beautiful Ted Baker dress and Karen Millen trousers. The show made a powerful fashion statement revealing the real range of clothing you can find in their stores. At the end of the evening, all the clothing modelled was then available for all spectators to purchase.

With the fashion show, complete supporters were invited to browse around 17 stalls held by local businesses. Each guest finished their night by taking home a beauty bag full of Clinique and Body Shop goodies.

Charlotte von Sicard, Wessex Cancer Trust’s Community Fundraiser says,

“We were delighted to have such a fantastic response to our first fashion show event. A huge thank you to our fantastic models, stall holders and supporters who really made the event possible.”
