Almost 300 people and 30 dogs stepped up to take part in our third Walk for Hope in the New Forest. Together, they're well on their way to raising £50,000 to help local people living with cancer.

The walkers came together to give hope to friends and family undergoing cancer treatment, remember loved ones and support everyone affected by cancer. They chose either a five, 10 or 20 mile route, all of which started in Burley Park and moved through the village of Burley towards Bolderwood, taking in the beautiful New Forest woodland.

Every participant was cheered over the finish line back at Burley Park where they received a medal and well-earned refreshments.

Participants said:

"A great and very poignant day as it was one year ago today that I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thank you to the organisers, volunteers and walkers for making it a fantastic event and raising a lot of money in the process."

"A fantastic place, beautiful people, perfect team, thank you to everyone for making this possible. It's been an amazing day."

"Thank you to the organisers and volunteers today. It was a lovely event. My friends and I really enjoyed it. For me it's a milestone in my recovery. Hope everyone had a good day."

The event was sponsored by Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, Brewin  Dolphin and Bon Voyage, as well as Castle Marquees who provided the marquee and tables and chairs free of charge.

All of the money raised will be used to provide practical and emotional support to anyone living with cancer in Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

Details of next year's event will be on our website soon!
